The location was great. It was near a bus line and theatres too (if you have time for that). Breakfast was great with a big assortment. The hotel had character with it's windy halls and wood trim. We forgot the plugs for the UK/Ireland and they were available for sale in the lobby (coin machine).
Next to the river, this 4-star hotel overlooks the Bord Gais Energy Theater. Guests can enjoy its spacious rooms, 22-yard swimming pool, and health club, just 10 minutes’ walk from the 3 Arena.

Unfortunately the hot food was only lukewarm. Cold option was excellent though.

I liked that the village was very walkable and I could even walk to and from Dublin City Centre from there ( a long walk if you are not a frequent walker). Rathgar itself had a lovely bookstore, an awesome antiques shop, conveniences and welcoming pubs. I recommend Brady's (a 10 minute walk from my guesthouse), and The 108, which was a 5 minute walk for me. Both these pubs had very good food and atmosphere.

Will we stay again?
Will we stay again? Probably but maybe only for 1-2 nights maximum, and not 5.
Lets face it , dublin is expensive. You cant ask for 5star, yet it was disasspointing to not have the room cleaned half the time and that you had to ask for room cleaning ( something you only know once you are in the room ).
There is no staff, it is unmanned; there is a sink in the room not in the toilet; the room is small . This we knew beforehand , so zero complaints there.
The TV, only a few local channels worked, but we werent there to watch tv anyway.
The ammenities were good and fair and the bed was good. Staff over the phone was helpful.

Away from hustle & bustle of Dublin City centre.
Away from hustle & bustle of Dublin City centre. Good local cafes, bars, restaurants & shops + short walk or bus to Terenure or Rathmines for more choice.
City centre is only quick bus journey, (use a leep card to save money) away for tourist destinations & night life.

Totally unorganized. They sent me my codes after I left. I also received an email that I was never there. The room was not clean and the location is far from downtown. I would not recommend this place

Excellent value for money, clean and comfortable and well located. A few minor issues, the numbers on the press pad on the front door were difficult to see, there was stale water in the kettle and the coffee machine and there was not enough towels. Parking was on a first come basis butI was too late to get it. All in all, this was a very pleasant experience and I would have no hesitation reccomding no 9 as a good place to stay
The location is within easy walking distance of busses to Dublin City Center. A supermarket, cafe, deli and pharmacy are also nearby. The location is quiet. It is a residential street but near to the village and a bus ride to downtown. The breakfast is not a full meal, yet, access to a small kitchenette that is actually well stocked with basics was all that was needed for a quick bite in the morning. The Fat Cat Cafe, a short walk away, is a great place for breakfast.
No frills walk up guest house, perfectly suited for travel to and through Dublin. Located on a busy street, but set back. Did not hear traffic with windows closed. Very clean and comfortable room, bed and en-suite bath. Window let in lots of light. Tea and coffee accoutrements, mini fridge. Self check-in codes sent via text. Good value. 30 mins to Dublin airport, 20 mins to the coast. Grocery store, restaurant and pub about 3 blocks away.
Location--close to Dublin City Center. Very easy to take a bus to Dublin. Freedom to come and go--access codes allow you to get in and out of the hotel and your room. You don't need to worry about a key. Neighborhood--cute neighborhood with pubs and grocery stores within walking distance. Several nights we went to the grocery store for wine and food to eat in the communal lounge.
I loved the cozy, atmosphere at St. Aiden's Guesthouse. It was charming, with a lovely front yard and iron gate, visible signage and a beautiful front sitting room, replete with fireplace, a lovely view to the front yard, gorgeous ceilings, wallpaper, and chandeliers. Marie welcomed me with tea and biscuits, and explained everything I would need to know about my stay.
check in excellent .... small kitchen stocked with a cereal and breads and fruit tea and coffee, a beautiful old guest house in
a gorgeous neighborhood. It was nice to also use the ground floor living room looking on to the front garden.
location, safety, parking
loved the tea and biscuits on arrival
friendly owner and flexible option for self service breakfast
bathroom well stocked and the house and bedroom had character
Location to get bus into Dublin which is 15B
this is a bus you can catch on Zion Road and stop outside the hotel.
The bus takes coins only or a green pass.
Hotel staff very helpful.
Location was spot on for where we wanted to be. Hotel was quiet relaxing. Rathgar is a really nice suburb in Dublin and it is easy to get Into the city from there.
Very clean, warm, very friendly and helpful staff, close to bus station, bars and grocery stores. Very good price compared to similar properties in Dublin.
