This is our go to place for Turkish. Each and every time the food has been consistently excellent. Fresh and tasty. Highly recommend the mixed grill. The falafel are also excellent. Food comes out quickly and consistent.

Came here a couple weeks ago Friday evening with a party of 4 for dinner around 8pm, there were a handful of smaller parties and a larger group around 8-9 people dining inside during this time. All the groups were spaced at least 6 ft or more apart which was commendable. All service staff wore masks and they were very prompt to pass menus and address questions. It took a little while to get attention at first since I believe they were busy with the larger party but afterwards they were terrific.
We ordered the large mezze platter which came with delicious hummus, baba ganush, lebni, large white beans and marinated eggplant salad. Every item went wonderfully with the warm fresh bread which they kindly refreshed for us after we hungrily devouring the first basket. The zucchini pancakes were a bit denser than I anticipated and prob the least favorite item of the night for me though the yogurt sauce helped impart a bit of refreshment to it. We all enjoyed the fried okra appetizer which was slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's hard to maintain that crisp shell on such a mushy veggie when cooked, but they did a pretty good job with the texture.
For the main entrees we each ordered a variety of the combo platters. I can attest that the lamb chops--juicy and tender, gyro--savory and thinly carved, and kofte--chargrilled and well seasoned...all were super tasty. If anything I would say the kofte has a slightly more gamey taste compared to the lamb chop tho not significant enough to be off-putting. Each platter came with a side salad of dressed iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato, as well as a side of rice. More than enough food considering all the apps we'd already eaten! I was so stuffed I ended up only eating half the entree.
All in all a great experience and look forward to heading back when I'm in the area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Oct 17, 2022
Came here for dinner, not too many tables taken. I shared a gyro plate and hot eggplant. Complimentary bread was super soft and chewy, given olive oil was really flavorful and tasty too. Food came out quickly, gyro was really soft and different from gyro I usually get. The hot eggplant was basically babaganoush was hot, nothing special. For the amount and quality of food, prices are high, came out to be around $40 post-tax.

I went here yesterday around lunch time and it was rather empty. As you walk in, there is a staircase to a theatre, and then the bar. Past that is an abundance of seating. The interior is pretty nice- and would be a decent date/dinner spot. I got a sangria which was rather large and lemon-y. I was very happy with it. Bread came for the table. For an app, I got the lebneh. The person I was with enjoyed both more than me, but it was good. I then got the shrimp which was very flavorful. I was thoroughly happy with my choice. The person I was with got the lamb and it was piled on the plate. They couldn't eat it all. They said it was very good too.

I have started a quest to find the best shwarma - but also willing to try gyro. Oddly enough, loved several great dishes at Seven Hills, but not the gyro. The quality and quantity of the meat was there - it wasn't gristly, or overcooked or too fatty - like other places. But the meat also had very little flavor. Ask for extra sauce with it, it helps. The rice and salad that came with it were quite good. The pide bread was great - with sesame seeds. A step above regular pita or other Turkish pides in the nabe. The lentil soup, lebni and imam biyaldi were on point - fresh, flavorful, and greaseless (which is an accomplishment with turkish eggplant). The falafel and tahina were meh, no real flavor. Of course, why would I order falafel from a Turkish resto? Serves me right. So, I will def order from here again....but NOT the gyro or falafel.

Delicious and laid back family run restaurant. We went before the opera at Lincoln Center. We had small Mezze plate- delicious and crispy okra and zucchini pancakes. The crispy okra was amazing. They suggested two wines and we tried both my sister liked and I liked the other! Perfect!
We liked the opera but we were still talking about the crispy okra when we got home! A wonderful neighborhood restaurant!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - C. M.New York, NY2232372Mar 12, 2022Updated review

Ordered delivery yesterday. Mixed experience. Octopus and grape leaves were very good. Rice and salad were very not. Shrimp were not "jumbo" as advertised. Humus and baba were acceptable. Pida pizza was light on toppings/fillings.

Cozy little place on the upper west side and great for a pre Beacon Theatre dinner.
I had the falafel plate which comes with hummus and they put Turkish bread on the table.
The falafel were crispy and perfectly cooked while the hummus served as a perfect creamy foil.
Tzatiki sauce also accompanied tHe falafel and was also wonderful.

Thanks to covid, we decided to support the hood and picked up our meal. Had a mixed grill and salmon, Shepard's salad. So impressed and satisfied! We absolutely will be back. Truly appreciate the attention to detail!
