Hey there, time traveller!

CJOB and Hot 103 remain the top two radio stations in the city, but the gap is narrowing.
AM news station CJOB remains the most popular station in the city with 16.6 per cent of listeners aged 12 and up, but top 40 station Hot 103 isn’t far behind with a 15.6 share – the highest in the station’s history, and the highest rating for an FM music station in recent memory.
“When you take into account all of the variables, Hot might be the most successful top 40 station in the country,” Sharon Taylor, vice-president and general manager of Astral Manitoba, said Thursday. “It’s incredible to me we have these kind of terrific numbers.”
In the new spring BBM radio ratings book surveying local listening habits, the ratings for both stations rose compared to the same time period last year. CJOB increased its share by 1.3 while Hot moved up 4.2 points, the highest increase in the new book which surveyed local radio listening habits between Feb. 28 and April 24.
Rounding out the top five most popular stations in the city for listeners 12 and up are CBC Radio 1 with a 10.6 share, country station QX-104 with an 8.7 rating and modern rock station Power 97 with a 7.2 share.
Since last spring three stations have undergone format and name changes, with mixed results. The big winner was oldies station Fab 94.3, which posted a 6.7 rating, up from 2.8 a year ago when it was playing alternative and top 40 as Curve. The increase was the second highest of the book after Hot.
K-Rock, a classic rock and blues station at 100.7 FM, slipped a full point to 0.9 compared to when it was country station Hank, while ratings for Sports Radio 1290 fell over two points to 0.7 after ditching the oldies to switch to an all sports talk format.
The station’s 2.3 ratings tumble is tied for worst of the book with classic rock station 92 Citi FM, which fell to 5.6 per cent from 7.9.
Here’s the complete list of 12-and-up ratings from the new book, with last year’s spring numbers in parentheses.
