Move the location of the Quick Access Toolbar and add commands to it.

Frequent tipster Leonid Nemirovsky shares with us a tip for using the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) in AutoCAD. It works great in AutoCAD 2010 and 2011.

"You can place the Quick Access Toolbar above or below the ribbon, and you can add any command to it — including custom commands. Just click on the little black arrow at the bottom right of the QAT to bring up the customization menu, and explore the opportunities!"

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: I love the QAT. It is a place where you can put frequently used commands without disturbing your workspace. It was introduced in AutoCAD 2009, and has been improved in 2010 and 2011. It is easy enough to customize; you don't have to go through the CUI (Command User Interface). Toggle the default commands on and off, or click the Add Commands option to make more commands available. This is also where you go to place the QAT either above or below the ribbon.
