Storefronts boast towering tributes to the season and neighborhood windows are lit up from within by ornately decorated branches. Although the Christmas tree is a staple of the year’s last month, these days it doesn’t always assume the traditional form. Whether you normally pick-up a real pine tree (Home Depot has them ranging from $40 to $200), or head to the store for the plastic variety (Target sells them for anywhere from $25 to $300), a traditional Christmas tree can either set you back a pretty penny, or have you facing mess and storage issues. Not to mention, what happens to that dried up tree once January rolls around?
