Review:
“Carlee is a girl who discovers that not everything you learn in school is found in text books. One of Carlee's most important lessons is the one she learns about herself.”

Carlee always thought that she wanted to be a teacher, but when her mom lands a new job as a teacher at her school, she was filled with dread at what embarrassment it could cause. What if her mom hands out bad grades or her students don't like her as a teacher? While sitting in class, Carlee thought about all the things she could be instead of a teacher. She thought about being famous and making history or perhaps she could design a video game, build houses, or even become a fashion designer. With each class she attended, Carlee thought of all the wonderful things she could do and become. After school, she tried to leave before her friends saw her. It didn't work, but to her surprise the students that had her mom as a teacher, thought she was very cool. Perhaps Carolee will rethink wanting to become a teacher when she grows up.

Wigu Publishing has created a wonderful series for young readers. Each page tells the story of its main character in colorful illustrations but the pages also show the various jobs and careers a young person could do. Real photos and interesting facts about Martin Luther King, George Washington, Margaret Hamilton and many more can be found. Readers can learn about famous people and their careers. Parents and teachers can use this book as a tool to educate kids and get them thinking and talking about their future.

Review:

This is a story of a boy named Jake. Jake has a school project: “What do you want to be when your grow up?” Jake picks a soldier in the U.S. Army. Here is how he learned all about it.”

In class Jake thought about all of the professions that he could do. He could be a race-car driver, fire fighter and even a rock star. When he spoke with his dad he learned that he was in the army just like his father and his grandfather. For the class assignment Jake could either dress up or create a poster to share with the class long with his writing assignment. Jake and his dad visit the local G.I. Surplus store and learns a lot about the armed services. At the store Jake picks out a uniform with patches, a helmet and a very cool gas mask. He was ready for his presentation.

Kids who want to learn all about the army and its history will become very engaged. Colorful illustrations of the main character along with real life photos will teach readers about army officers and the various ranks, various army jobs, the infantry, field artillery and so much more. The back of the book has a glossary of terms for better understanding. Parents and teachers can utilize this tool to educate young readers and to help them decide if whether or not they want to be in the army when they grow up.
