Smashwords Interview

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My novels. Each book I write has a message for people, and I feel like I need to have that message heard before I die. If I do nothing else in life, I just want to get my books out there. This is my destiny. So, every morning I force myself up to get back to work on my novels. Because dreams don't just happen. It takes work.
Describe your desk
I don't have one. I guess my laptop and cellphone are my desks. I have a painful nerve disease called sciatica, so I have to either write lying in bed on my back, or leaning back in a special chair on the porch. So my laptop and cellphone have both been very useful for that. That is also why it takes me so long to finish a book. But trust me, I am trying!

Smashwords book reviews by Kylie Jude

  • Bennet - The Alderdice Tales on May 21, 2014

I had the pleasure of being the first to read this frightening tale, and I enjoyed it a lot. "Very Poe-ish" - The first words out of my mouth after reading it the first time. It does remind me a lot of Poe's stories, with its haunting imagery and dark themes, but it's also unique. I had lots of fun editing the story, which was a pleasant collaboration between two dark minds. This is a short story, but it covers a lot. I'm excited to read and edit the next two shorts in the series. If you like scary stories, prepare to be enthralled.
  • Nettie - The Alderdice Tales on May 26, 2014

Yes I edited this and am on the cover, but I'm still reviewing it. When I read it, I kept thinking "Bennet was good, but Nettie just might be better." Both Alderdice Tales written so far are great reads, full of beautiful imagery and breathless suspense, but Nettie delves deeper into the mystery behind the events of Bennet, and it's haunting how it ties into certain real-world practices and events. Can't wait to see what happens next!
