Let's Build a LinkedIn Profile That Organically Generates Leads!

Of all the giants in the social media world, LinkedIn has arguably the biggest impact on the B2B market. More companies in the B2B sector have acquired a customer through LinkedIn than Facebook, Twitter or even their own company blog.

Like all marketing platforms, such profiles require fresh content and regular interaction, requiring both time and effort. However, while there is no equal substitute for hard work, there are ways in which you can adapt your LinkedIn profile so that it organically generates interest, followers and ultimately leads in your absence.

Be More Than a Profile

Many business owners have the right idea when it comes to posting high-quality content that others will want to share. However, not everyone applies this thinking to their profile page itself.

Think about it -- why not make a profile page that's shareable in and of itself?

It needn't all be about your personal information. You could attach detailed fact sheets about your industry, videos explaining relevant government legislation that your fellow sector workers need to know about, or links to various websites advertising sector jobs. Essentially anything that could compel others to link back to your profile page.

Take this a step further, and state that all the content is free to copy verbatim. Some people will do this without referencing you, sure. But the ones who do will generate a series of valuable linkbacks, thereby boosting the SEO of your profile page.

Infographics are also great in that they are shareable and you can attach your LinkedIn handle to the corner of the image. That way, your profile gets advertised regardless of whether the person sharing provides a link.

Launch LinkedIn Groups

Launching and building a group takes time. However, that's only if you're the one leading the charge.

From a group's inception, make clear that everyone can invite whoever they want. Relinquishing the reins in this sense will effectively let others build a networking list for you -- all you have to do is plant the initial seed.

Change Titles of Previous Blogs

Whenever people focus on SEO, they almost always look toward the future.

While you should continuously improve your optimization skills, factors such as keyword usage can be applied to previous posts as well.

To boost the search engine ranking of your existing blogs -- and thereby allow your profile to garner more interest as a whole -- spend one evening running through them and altering the titles that were written when your SEO skills were less sharpened.
