The Walker Group, including Candlewick Press, Walker Books UK and Walker Books Australia, is expanding its Where’s Waldo? publishing program beyond Martin Handford’s original books, for the first time. The spin-off program, which will debut in 2012 in time for the character’s 25th anniversary, will include all-new content inspired by the original books, including new formats and spin-offs that incorporate the search-and-find elements of the originals. Walker Book Group is partnering with Where’s Waldo? licensor Classic Media on the program.

Six Where’s Waldo? titles, available in various formats, have sold 50 million cumulative copies worldwide since 1987. In the last few years, the brand has expanded into mobile and videogames and a small range of licensed merchandise.
