The Nets have signed center Henry Sims to a second 10-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released, but the 6'11" Georgetown product earned $55,722 for his first 10-day, a pro-rated salary based on the vets minimum.
Sunday is Sims' 26th birthday. and the team celebrated both his birthday -- and new 10-day -- on board the team plane.

The Nets will have until April 6 to decide whether to sign him for the rest of the year. The signing would seem to foreclose the Nets from signing anyone else to 10-day deal.
Originally signed to a 10-day contract on March 17, Sims has appeared in four games with the Nets, averaging 4.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game. Sims played a total of 25 minutes in the Nets wins over the Cavaliers and Pacers, totaling nine points on 3-of-8 shooting and grabbing four rebounds. Sims has played 125 NBA games for the Nets, 76ers, Cavaliers and Hornets.
Sims has moved ahead of both Willie Reed and Thomas Robinson in Tony Brown's rotation. Reed has been inactive the last two games and Robinson received DNP-CD's in both tames.
The Nets could extend Sims for the rest of the season once his second 10-day is up, adding a non-guaranteed or minimally guaranteed second year which wouldn't affect the team's cap space. Sims could play on the summer league team.
