NFL Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy dead at 48

Cortez Kennedy, a Hall of Fame defensive tackle who spent his career with the Seahawks, has died, according to TMZ Sports. He was 48.

The cause of death is unclear. Orlando police confirmed Kennedy’s passing, telling TMZ, “There is nothing suspicious” about the death.

Kennedy spent his entire 11-year career in Seattle, going to eight Pro Bowls before he retired after the 2000 season. He was elected to the Hall of Fame and had his No. 96 jersey retired in 2012.

Kennedy was the No. 3 pick in the 1990 draft after four years at Miami, where he would be inducted into its Sports Hall of Fame.
