Trump goes on another Twitter rant, calls leaks ‘fabricated lies’

President Trump unleashed his frustration with the press and the probes into Russia’s connections with his team in a Sunday Twitter rant.

“It is my opinion that many of the leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media,” Trump tweeted.

Team Trump spent a dreary Sunday inside the White House considering an overhaul of the president’s staff, expanding his legal defense and bringing back top campaign leaders to deal with investigations into Russian meddling in the election that have now swept up his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to reports.

Kushner had at least three previously undisclosed contacts with the Russian ambassador to the United States, Reuters reported.

In December, Kushner joined Michael Flynn, who later became national security adviser before being forced out, to try to set up back-channel communications between the Kremlin and the Trump transition team, which raised red flags in the intelligence community.

“My dashboard warning light was clearly on and I think that was the case with all of us in the intelligence community, very concerned about the nature of these approaches to the Russians,” former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
