The Mariners have claimed right-handed relief pitcher Pat Light off waivers. The Pirates designated Light for assignment last Saturday to free a 40-man roster spot for Edgar Santana.
The Pirates acquired Light, 26, in a minor trade with the Twins in February. Under Pirates control, Light posted a 3.76 ERA, with 20 strikeouts, 15 walks and four saves, in the Indianapolis bullpen.
