Serving as Public Protector from 10 October 2009 to 14 October 2016, Thuli Madonsela has become one of South Africa’s most recognisable and respected public figures. She’s faced a slew of political issues in her day, from the Malema scandals of 2012, to her latest battle with the Gupta family and President Jacob Zuma. During all this, she somehow found time to tweet a bit too.
