Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian wanted by three Serie A clubs

Manchester United flop Matteo Darmian will be a key target for three Serie A clubs this January.

United paid £12.7m to land the right-back from Torino in 2015 but things have not gone exactly to plan for the Italy international.

After starting 24 Premier League games in his first season with the club, Darmian has become little more than a fringe player at Old Trafford.

He has started just two league games this term and it has been suggested that he will be sold when the window opens in the New Year.

But, according to reports in Italy, there is no shortage of clubs interested in landing the 27-year-old despite his lack of recent game time.

Serie A champions Juventus, along with Napoli and Roma, want to lure Darmian back to his homeland and believe his ability to play at either right or left back would be a huge asset to the squad.

Darmian remains under contract until 2019 but given his diminished role in the team United are reportedly ready to sell.
