David Montgomery and Riley Ridley to represent the Bears at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere

The Bears had two rookies chosen to among the Top 40 invited to the NFLPA Rookie Premiere.

The Chicago Bears will have two rookies representing the club at the NFL Players Association’s Rookie Premiere, which takes place this weekend in Los Angeles, California. Chicago’s first two selections, running back David Montgomery and wide out Riley Ridley, both made the list. Having two of the forty players on the official invite list is good for the Bears considering that they didn’t make a pick until the third-round of the draft.

Panini America sponsors the May 16-19 event as a way for the rookies to, “learn the business of football and jumpstart their endorsement careers.”

Hosted by the NFLPA and its marketing and licensing arm, NFL Players Inc., the 2019 NFLPA Rookie Premiere includes several highly-anticipated moments. Friday will feature the unveiling of each rookie’s official jersey presented by Fanatics. Saturday’s main event is an all-day live action and studio shoot for Panini trading cards as the rookies wear their official team uniforms for the first time.

According to the NFLPA’s press release, the rookie premiere “is the first major business and marketing event featuring NFL players since becoming professionals.”

“The NFLPA Rookie Premiere is an unparalleled opportunity for partners to engage with tomorrow’s most influential athletes” said Ahmad Nassar, President, NFL Players Inc. “For the first time as professionals and following in the footsteps of Russell Wilson, Saquon Barkley and Baker Mayfield, this year’s rookies will learn about the business of football from union leadership as they start to build a plan to succeed beyond their playing careers while connecting on a personal level with partners who share their passion for the game.”

Last year it was wide receiver Anthony Miller that represented the Bears, and before that it was quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
